Data Deletion Policy
How to permanently delete your Vitriv account and personal data.
Your right to delete
You can ask us to permanently delete your Vitriv account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Deletion is free, does not require a reason, and applies to all of the personal data we store about you on your account — meal logs, goals, progress, uploaded photos, AI chat history, profile attributes.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)
The quickest path. From the Vitriv app, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account, confirm with your password, and submit. Your account is disabled immediately and the data is queued for permanent deletion within 30 days.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can't sign in, follow the three steps below.
Send an email to [email protected] from the address registered on your Vitriv account.
Subject line: Data Deletion Request
In the body, include your full name and the email address on your account. If you have it, include the date you created the account so we can match the record faster.
What happens after you request deletion
- We verify the request against the email address on your account. If we can't verify ownership, we'll ask for one more piece of evidence before we proceed.
- We disable your account immediately so no new data is recorded.
- We permanently delete your personal data within 30 days of verification. You'll get a confirmation email when it's done.
- Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten. Backups are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery and are not human-readable in normal operation.
What gets deleted
- Account: email, password hash, profile attributes (age, sex, height, weight, goals).
- Activity: meal logs, recipe bookmarks, custom recipes, workouts, progress entries, body measurements, photos.
- AI history: prompts and responses linked to your account.
- Session data: device sessions, push notification tokens.
What we may retain
- Financial records for paid transactions — required by tax law in most jurisdictions for up to 7 years. These contain only the transaction amount, date, and tax identifier — not your activity data.
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics — these cannot be linked back to you.
- Records required to comply with a legal hold — kept only as long as legally required.
Before you go
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. If you'd like a copy of your data first, you can export everything from Profile → Settings → Account → Export my data in the app. The export is a ZIP file containing your meal logs, recipes, progress, and AI history.
